~MEMORIES~

Yesterday my house was full of boys,
Many little hands to play with toys.
I kissed their hurts, dried their tears,
Slew their dragons and calmed their fears.
Little boys are wonders to behold,
Their faces shinny, bright and bold.
But, that was yesterday...
Today I have my memories.

Yesterday my boys started school,
Learned to swim, jumped in the pool!
Together they were joined--their flag unfurled...
There were three of them against the world.
They were supermen, soldiers and cowboys,
My house stayed filled with many joys.
That was yesterday...
Today I have my memories.

Yesterday the teenagers came,
Many friends dressed almost the same.
There were many songs to fill our ears,
Occasionally, eyes filled with tears.
They talked of girls, motor cycles and cars
They declared which were the best candy bars.
That was yesterday...
Today I have my memories.

Yesterday they grew into men,
Now they write with their own pen.
With the help of God above,
Each found a woman--theirs to love.
Now another dries their tears,
She soothes their pain, and calms their fears...
This is today...
I have my memories.

Today my house is full of girls and boys,
Many little hands to play with toys.
I kiss their hurts and dry their tears.
I slay their dragons and calm their fears.
Sweet little wonders to behold,
Faces shinny, bright and bold.
Today I have grandchildren...
I am making new memories!
